Summer Camps Create Memories for CI Kids

Camp Sonshine and Camp Solaris are the highlight of the summer for many City Impact kids and youth. This summer, we were able to send 37 kids to camp!

Campers enjoy a huge variety of activities including swimming, archery, go carts, and campfire cooking. They bounce around and sing at praise and worship time. By the end of the week they’re exhausted, and they never want camp to end.

“Camp Sonshine is a safe place for our kids, just like City Impact. Kids can be themselves and know they’ll be cared for. It’s a great experience!”

~ Renee Meyer, CI Kids Administrator

This year, three City Impact youth leaders served as Leaders In Training (LITs) at Camp Sonshine. LITs help counselors manage their campers – connecting with kids, encouraging them to participate in activities, reminding them of camp rules when needed, and making camp FUN.

“We have a lot of responsibility and get to be with the campers. It’s really fun!”

~ Alexis, 8th grader and CI Youth Leader

Twelve City Impact kids spent the week at Camp Solaris, an overnight camp that brings all the adventure and includes faith lessons and time to connect with God.

“My son LOVED Camp Solaris! He went on and on about the nonstop activities and spending time with his friends.

He also really enjoyed the devotionals and finding God in nature, which means so much to me as a mom.”

~ Marie, CI Parent

Huge thanks to our donors who made camp possible for our kids!
